Pure Health Alliance is an acupuncture and integrative medicine practice in University Heights, San Diego. Dr. Chang blends time-tested traditional medicine with evidence-based, integrative care, treating the body as a whole and building a personalized plan around each patient's goals.

How they work

Care at Pure Health Alliance starts with a thorough consultation to understand the patient's needs and goals, followed by a treatment session tailored to them. Treatment can draw on acupuncture, electro-stimulation, cupping, kinesiotaping, Tui Na massage and herbal medicine, and Dr. Chang pairs it with diet and lifestyle guidance, including simple exercises to do at home, so progress holds between visits. Dr. Chang graduated from UCLA, holds a doctorate in acupuncture and Chinese medicine and a master's in traditional Oriental medicine, and works alongside other healthcare providers through the University of California, San Diego and The Integrative Health Project.

The space

The clinic is in University Heights on Park Boulevard, with online booking for visits. Pure Health Alliance also offers mobile, house-call acupuncture across the Greater San Diego area for care at home. The practice accepts insurance, cash and HSA or FSA payments, and offers financial assistance to those who qualify.
