About Miriam Gilson
Kinetic Inner Qi Acupuncture & Sports Medicine is a Coronado practice where Miriam Gilson treats pain and injury with an orthopedic and sports medicine approach to acupuncture. Miriam looks at how the body moves, finding the muscles and patterns behind a complaint, then combines acupuncture with hands-on manual therapy and targeted exercise to help patients recover and stay active.
How they work
Care centers on the whole body in motion. Miriam uses acupuncture together with motor-point and trigger-point needling, electro-stimulation, myofascial release, cupping and gua sha, and pairs the hands-on work with therapeutic exercise, postural assessment and lifestyle counseling. Treatments are tailored to each patient's goals, whether recovering from an injury, easing a long-standing pain pattern or working to move and perform better. Chinese herbal formulas are available to support treatment, and cosmetic acupuncture and micro-needling are offered for facial rejuvenation.
About Kinetic Inner Qi
Miriam Gilson came to Chinese medicine through athletics and sports medicine, studying at the University of New Mexico before earning her Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego and training as an ACE personal trainer. She founded Kinetic Inner Qi Acupuncture & Sports Medicine in Coronado in 2017 after specializing in Sports Medicine Acupuncture with AcuSport Education and Matt Callison, a pioneer in the field. She has built practices around the world, from Guatemala to Glasgow and Southeast Asia, and brings years of clinical experience to each visit with a gentle, warm approach.
